Let the Story Surprise Us
My books are journeys of love and adventure, shaped by a life rich in travel and experience. I don’t plan—I cast a few characters, choose a compelling setting, and let the story reveal itself. I’m not the creator, just the messenger, and I hope the reader is just as surprised as I am by where it all leads.
“Whether it’s the shadows of Istanbul or the fog of a Scottish loch, I write stories that pull you in—and won’t let go.”

A Must Read. I read Scribe over the course of two evenings. It is a beautifully crafted story that creates amazing images in your mind of the typical remote areas in Scotland along with the very unique clan history cleverly weaved through the plot. The dialogue is real and believable. You actually feel the joy and pain experienced by the main characters as they are pulled into a thrilling mystery through time which deeply affects their relationship with one another. Brian is a talented author and I hope to see more books published by him in the near future. I haev already recommended this book to many friends and relatives. Keep up the great work, Brian.

Retreat to your most comfortable chair and settle in……. as Scribe transports you to Scotland by masterfully interweaving contemporary suspense with 17th century lore in a way that is far more than a “good read” or a “page turner” – though it is both of those – so much more, in fact, that you are glad you laid in more firewood and hopeful that the rain lasts all weekend. This is a book that took me where I want to be with a good story, introduced me to characters I came to care about and kept me among them until both interwoven tales were fully told. I loved it!

Enjoyed this well written work and all the mysteries it presented the reader. The setting of Scotland was described beautifully and made me want to visit. The characters were convincing and complex, which kept you in suspense and guessing. It was one of those books that you hated to see end. Maybe there will be a sequel.

Amazing reading from the beginning to the un- imagined end – During a recent trip I had the time to read Scribe in fact I could not put it down. The way Brian was able to intertwine the lives of the characters was true genius. From the emotional lives of the Scribe himself, and his wife, to the book the Scribe challenged himself to write you find yourself feeling as if you too were there experiencing every detail as it played out. I recommend that anyone wishing true suspense and bone chilling exerts of what could be true life experiences to read Scribe. Just be prepared to not put it down till finished!

Could Never Put It Down! The book was excellent. I read cover to cover in a few days. Would highly recommend it to my friends. Good gifts for friends. The story never lags and moves flawlessly thru the Scottish lands. Having been there just a few years ago it brought back vivid memories of the lochs, mountains and the scenery. Thanks Brian Hope it’s a hit!

Suspense, Romance and Revenge never travelled through time so gracefully-an exciting journey — Russell transports our minds and hearts through the mist of time. Wonderfully nuanced, the writer makes you feel and sense your surroundings. Love, hate and revenge never travelled through time to gracefully. A well-structured, haunting read that leaves you quite satisfied yet, wanting more from this writer. Let the quill write on.
